We could have gotten the 'I Do's' in Eclipse!

MTV's 'Next Movie' blog, recently got a chance to chat with David Slade ahead of the DVD release of Eclipse this weekend. The full interview isn't up yet, but below is an extract from what is posted:

We discussed a lot of the things at the script-writing stage — at one point, we were even going to shoot the wedding at the end of ["Eclipse"] but we knew there was another film coming”

You can read the rest of the interview here.

Are you happy that we didn't get the wedding? Or do you think they made a huge mistake by not putting it in?

Breaking Dawn newcomers talk about their characters

"Saturday night, at the American Music Awards pre-party at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood, several newcomers from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 were interviewed on the red carpet about their forthcoming work as Twilight vamps.

For starters, Judi Shekoni, who will play Zafrina, and Tracey Heggins, who will play Senna, were together, noting that both of their characters are from the Amazon Coven and that they had the opportunity to meet Robert Pattinson already. The video for that interview is below:

Valorie Curry, who will play Charlotte, also showed up to discuss her character.
"I wish I could tell you how excited and overwhelmed I am about the whole thing," she explained. "I feel like the new kid on the first day of school since they've been all working together for so long, and it's so established . . . I mean, the fans know the story better than I do at this point, so I'm getting it."

Muse, which has contributed a song to each of the Twilight series soundtracks so far ("Supermassive Black Hole" for Twilight, "I Belong to You" for New Moon, and "Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever)" on Eclipse), received the AMA's "Favorite Alternative Rock Music Artist" award, while The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was bested by "Glee: The Music, Volume 3 Showstoppers" for "Favorite Soundtrack Album." Glee had also beaten Eclipse in the charts earlier this year."

Tentative UK release date for Bel Ami

Optimum Releasing, a Studio Canal Company, just posted in their press section that Bel Ami starring Robert Pattinson, now has a UK theatrical release date of August 2011.

You’ll note in the screen cap that they are still using ‘TBC’ or to be confirmed, so this seems to be a tentative release date. When contacted via email, Optimum Releasing stated:Bel Ami is currently scheduled for a UK Theatrical release in August 2011.
I’m afraid I can’t confirm as to other territories as Optimum only distributes within the UK

(Note from Bee: Uk and Irish cinema release dates are generally always on par so we can assume the UK release date is the same for Ireland. Will let you know more info as we get it.)

Access Hollywood: Taylors Hairy 'Eclipse' Special Effects

Access Hollywood has just posted an exclusive clip from the “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” DVD. It shows how the film’s special effects team pulled off some of the challenging effects presented by Taylor Lautner’s werewolf.

Eclipse is out on DVD in Ireland, December 3rd, and America, December 4th!

Twilight has beaten Harry Potter in Midnight Show takings...Twice!

The Twilight Saga's 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse' have both grossed more money then 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' on opening night.

From the 'LA times';

"The boy wizard couldn't beat the teen vampires.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part 1" sold $24 million in tickets in its debut late Thursday night with shows that started at or soon after midnight, according to an estimate from Warner Bros.

That's $1.8 million more than the last movie in the series,"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," brought in from midnight shows when it debuted in June 2009.

It's well short, however, of the record set in July by "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," which grossed more than $30 million during its late-night launch.

In fact, "Deathly Hallows" is the No. 3 midnight opening of recent years, also coming up behind November 2009's "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," which kicked off its opening weekend with $26.3 million.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part 1" is on track for a huge opening weekend of more than $100 million. Now that it didn't break any records in midnight shows, however, it's less likely the picture will top the $158-million debut in 2008 of "The Dark Knight," which stands as the biggest opening weekend ever, not accounting for ticket price inflation.

New Video: Filming At Waterfall

Ashley Greene in Gotham Magazine!

Below is the interview from this months 'Gotham Magazine'.

"When Twilight actress Ashley Greene moved to Los Angeles at age 17, she worked in restaurants to pay her rent. Now brands like Mark are signing her for big-time contracts, and People magazine has dubbed her one of the year’s most beautiful people; all the while, directors are lining up to cast her.

Greene recently wrapped up work on Butter, the tale of a Midwestern woman (played by Jennifer Garner) trying to win a local butter-carving contest. “It was the first comedy I’ve ever done, so I was equally terrified and excited,” says Greene. “Plus I was working with Jennifer Garner, who I could just sit and watch all day long.”

Garner is the kind of actress that Greene wants to emulate: one who straddles action and comedy in her professional life and maintain a grounded personal life at least somewhat out of the public eye. As for her own celebrity status, Greene understands it’s something that has to be taken seriously in a world where girls want to emulate the young women they see on the big screen. “I definitely try to be a positive role model,” she says. “Right now my fans seem to be growing with me. I want my fans to know that Twilight has given me an incredible opportunity, but this is all still new and exciting for me.""

Bella and Edward's Wedding Cake!

News from the Fairy Dust Cakes website, in Baton Rouge, LA...

"Most of you Twi fans know in this area that a large portion of Breaking Dawn will be filmed in Louisiana. We have the wonderful opportunity to be making Bella and Edwards wedding cake. Yes!!! You heard me correctly. I am a huge Twi fan and wiggled my way in to be making their cake for the movie. If all goes well it will not be vaguely in the shop or cropped out of the film all together. Who knows. Can't tell ya what it will look like....not until it opens in theaters, then you will get a clear shot of the cake. Over the years we have made two of the opening premiere cakes for Rave Motion Pictures and this surely a great step up. Oh, we are definitely Team Edward!!!! Ha"

We'll wait to hear about this from Summit, but still, how exciting! From looking at the selection of wedding cakes on their website, I'd say the cake is in good hands!

Daniel Radcliffe doesn't think The Simpsons 'Twilight Spoof' will bother Robert Pattinson

Earlier this month, Daniel Radcliffe voiced 'Edmund', a pasty-faced-heartthrob inspired by Edward Cullen, on "The Simpsons" Treehouse of Horror XXI.
Although he has yet hear from Rob about the episode, he's pretty sure he didn't mind the parody one bit.
"You cannot be in a film as big as either "Potter" or "Twilight" and not have a pretty good sense of humor about yourself."

In the Halloween-themed episode, young Lisa Simpson falls for Radcliffe's character after he saves her from an out-of-control school bus, a direct reference to the way in which Edward and Bella connect in "Twilight."
Radcliffe has found himself a "Simpsons" target in the past, with references ranging from a Homer Simpson pet pig named Harry Plopper, to a religious-minded character who said Potter and his wizard pals were going to hell.
"I find it all so cool and funny and flattering," he said. "I'm sure Rob's got a sense of humor about."
