Breaking Dawn Part 2 STILL #1 in Ireland!

Once again, the box-office figures are in, and once again, Breaking Dawn Part 2 is STILL #1 in the Irish film charts, beating out Skyfall again, and making €411,396 this week.
This brings the running total of the film to €2,042,467! :D 

Well done, Irish fans!!

Breaking Dawn Part 2 Opens at #1 in Ireland!

The box-office figures are in, and Breaking Dawn Part 2 opened up this weekend by debuting at #1 in the Irish film charts, making €1,178,410 over a two day period!!

This is over €300,000 more then Breaking Dawn Part 1 made this time last year during it's opening weekend.

Let's hope people keep going to see it ;)

SWATH opens at #2 in the Irish Box Office!

A section in today's Irish Independent's 'Day & Night' Magazine, shows that Snow White and the Huntsman has opened up at #2 in the Irish charts, making €437,585.
This is good news... since we've just been told that there WILL be a SWATH sequel being made! :D

Breaking Dawn - Still Number 1 in the Irish Box Office (2nd week running!)

Breaking Dawn is still top of the Irish box office - for the second week in a row - and has accumulated €1,965,957 so far!

Water for Elephants - no. 2 in Irish box office opening weekend

Figures explained: Technically 'Water for Elephants' came in at number 2 in the box office figures over the course of the dates 6th May - 8th May. However the running total for week 1 is €215,860 which is higher than 'Hanna' (wk1) because the WFE figures include the paid preview sales (paid previews started 4th May). 'Hanna' did not have paid previews.  So in my eyes, and not cause we're biased, that puts WFE at No. 1 ;)

Twilight has beaten Harry Potter in Midnight Show takings...Twice!

The Twilight Saga's 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse' have both grossed more money then 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' on opening night.

From the 'LA times';

"The boy wizard couldn't beat the teen vampires.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part 1" sold $24 million in tickets in its debut late Thursday night with shows that started at or soon after midnight, according to an estimate from Warner Bros.

That's $1.8 million more than the last movie in the series,"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," brought in from midnight shows when it debuted in June 2009.

It's well short, however, of the record set in July by "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," which grossed more than $30 million during its late-night launch.

In fact, "Deathly Hallows" is the No. 3 midnight opening of recent years, also coming up behind November 2009's "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," which kicked off its opening weekend with $26.3 million.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part 1" is on track for a huge opening weekend of more than $100 million. Now that it didn't break any records in midnight shows, however, it's less likely the picture will top the $158-million debut in 2008 of "The Dark Knight," which stands as the biggest opening weekend ever, not accounting for ticket price inflation.

Eclipse Breaks Box Office Records

Last night/this morning, North American fans of the Twilight Saga proved that, like the Cullens, they don't need sleep, ever. Well, at least not when there's a new Twilight movie premiering.

At 12:01 am, thousands of Twilight fans (some who had been in line for as long as 11 hours!) were rewarded with the third installment of the Twilight series and they shattered box office records in appreciation.



The blockbuster third installment of The Twilight Saga opened to more than $30 million on its first night in North America.

It surpasses the previous midnight opening record holder, which was the second Twilight installment, New Moon, at $26.3 million.

The movie also set a new IMAX record for midnight grosses with over $1 million from 192 theaters.

Remember Me comes in at no.6 in Irish Box Office for opening weekend

The Easter weekend is considered a big 'kids movie' weekend here in Ireland and this proved to be true as Nanny Mc Phee, How To Train Your Dragon and Kick Ass came in ahead of The Blind Side and Robert Pattinson's amazing 'Remember Me'. Coming in a respectable 6th of the top ten with just over 130K, Remember Me faced some stiff competition.  If you haven't seen it yet, then get yourselves to the cinema now. Bring people who are not Twilight fans or even Rob fans and watch them be converted by this heart-wrenching, emotive and inspiring movie. Trust me, they will never forget 'Remember Me'. ~ B

Robert Pattinson New Moon "A Favourite of Irish Movie Goers" - Scan

Rob is mentioned in an article in the Irish News of The World. 

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon took in more than €1.2 million at the box office, which was the highest opening weekend this year."
