Melissa Rosenberg’s reaction to the newBreaking Dawn Trailer
Well, I know what my reaction was like… but have you ever wondered what people inside the Twilight Saga’s reaction is to things like a new trailer?
LA Times caught up with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg to ask what her reaction was.
Ever after: Rosenberg was pleased that the trailer in part indicated that this film is about a marriage. “It teases the fact that this a story about … a marriage going through some unusual stresses …. At one point in the movie there’s a line where Edward says, ‘They say the first year is the hardest.’ It’s very funny.”
Jacob’s heartbreak: We were struck by Jacob’s emotional goodbye to human Bella, as he knows she’ll soon be promoted to Edward’s immortal beloved. Rosenberg says that scene resonates more than we know. “It’s a really sweet moment, and it’s the moment the film turns. It turns into a horror film,” she said. Speaking of which ….
The horror: Robert Pattinson’s previous comments that Bill Condon was making a horror movie were ominous, and the trailer in fact reflects terrible times ahead for the residents of Forks, Wash. “We’re beginning to get into the second half of the film, which turns more into a horror story. The images of Bella — trust me, it only gets more intense,” Rosenberg says.

Taylor Lautner - Why Director Gus Van Sant's Hanging Around
You may or may not remember the name Gus Van Sant.
He was in the running as a possible director for 'Breaking Dawn' before Bill Condon was hired for the job.
(is this an excuse to watch the new Breaking Dawn trailer? Yes, I think it is. Click here :) )
Over the past few weeks, Taylor Lautner has been spotted in his company a number of times. What's that all about? Is there a film deal in works here?
According to a report from Hollywood Life, Gus Van Sant - director of the new film Restless and also of the 2008 award-winning film Milk - is well aware that he's been seen all around Hollywood with the Twilight star, and he's willing to dish on why.
"There's a film that he wanted to put together, but I'm not working on it ... yet. It's possible I may work on it," Van Sant says of Taylor Lautner and his film idea.
Van Sant did take the opportunity to plug Restless while chatting about Taylor Lautner. And who can blame him? The subject of Lautner ensures a positively attentive audience, you know.
"I hope [filmgoers] get into the love story," Gus says of Restless. "And they feel like they want to fall in love."
So now back to Taylor Lautner. He's already starring in Abduction, and will be once again thrust into the limelight as Jacob Black when Breaking Dawn Part 1, the latest in the Twilight films which premieres in November. Exactly what kind of film idea has he been pitching to Gus Van Sant?
Unfortunately Gus stayed mum on the specifics, however film buffs can only imagine the caliber of a movie starring Taylor Lautner and directed by Gus Van Sant. It seems film buffs and Lautner fans have only one thing they can do in their efforts to find out - wait in suspense.

Anna Kendrick talks about Rob, Kristen & "Breaking Dawn"!
Have you learned anything from Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart about dealing with the media attention?
I have no idea how they stay sane with all that kind of attention. I know, knock wood, I’ve been able to avoid that kind of thing. I’m just in awe of their ability to handle that stuff.
Breaking Dawn Part 1 comes out in November, and it’s your last Twilight film. How do you feel?
At the end of the shoot, it felt celebratory. It wasn’t sad. It was like a job well done. It was also like 5 a.m. It was a long night and we were just sort of glad that everyone managed to make it through five movies without losing any toes to frostbite. I’m sure I’ll feel nostalgic once the movie comes out, but mostly it’s exciting that we made it through without any serious injuries.
Everyone’s talking about the wedding scene. What was that like?
There has been so much build-up about it. But I’m sure that if I say a word about it, (the movie company) will have me killed. So, I will just say I hope we look warm because we were all really cold.

Lily Collins: Kristen Stewart Is “Perfect” for Snow White!
You know how the media loves a good rivalry? Well they really seem to be enjoying the fact that we're gonna have two Snow Whites, and finally, Lily Collins is sharing her thoughts as reported by E!Online.
Looks like Lily Collins isn’t shaking in her Snow White shoes. Well, not yet at least. Even though she’s going toe-to-toe with a franchise heavyweight (that’d be Kristen Stewart, of course), Lily seems to be down for the fight. So what kind of intimidating trash talk did Lil have for K.Stew when she chatted with Teen Vogue recently? Nada, of course. In fact, Lily seems excited for Snow White and the Huntsman. “I think the audience may very well enjoy seeing two different versions,” Lily dished to the mag. “And I think that Kristen is perfect for hers.” We’ll see if she’s singing that same sweet tune when the box-office dollars are counted. Read the final part of her interview over at E! Online. |
