Good-Bye 2012, Hello 2013!

Hi Guys - it's Jess here!

Since 2013 is just upon us here in Ireland, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and enthusiasm this year - it's made blogging a pleasure! :)

I hope that every one has a very happy, healthy and wealthy New Year!

This has been a CRAZY year for Twilight fans!

There were some bad times (Tragic-fan deaths, the Robsten scandal) but mostly, the Twi-dom has been been a happy little family who were treated to loads of new Breaking Dawn stills, videos and surprises, as well as new films from Robert Pattinson (Bel Ami, Cosmopolis), Kristen Stewart (SWATH, On The Road) and Anna Kendrick (ParaNorman, Pitch Perfect) to name but a few.

There are plenty more films coming in 2013 - Rob alone has at least four new films lined-up to shoot next year - which means we'll never be too far from Twilight.

Bee and I, along with Kate from ROBsessed were lucky enough to get to attend some brilliant premieres thanks to Kate Bowe PR and Universal Pictures Ireland, and we - along with our sister site Irish Twilight Fans - were able to run some awesome Twilight and SWATH competitions for Irish fans - which if at all possible, we will continue to do so in to the New Year!

The BIGGEST thing to happen this year, was the arrival of Emmett and Rosalie - AKA Kellan Lutz and Nikki Reed - in Dublin's Convention Centre on October 27th.
Over 200 Irish fans got to meet them, get pictures and bear-hugs from them, and hear Nikki and her husband Paul perform their new song from the Breaking Dawn Part 2 Soundtrack - which Nikki assured me, they hadn't performed in public yet!

Some Twilight fans also got to be on RTÉ Two's The Movie Show, which involved meeting up on a freezing cold Saturday morning (I honestly thought my fingers were going to fall off!!!) to talk about Twilight for a few hours - it was horribly boring, as you can imagine ;)
[We'll link up the video if it ever becomes available online!]
But a big thanks goes out to the show's researcher, Adam McGarry Byrne, for getting us involved and listening to countless numbers of Twilight stories to ensure that it was a programme we were proud to be part of.

The Movie Show aired on the night that Vue Cinemas hosted their fourth Twilight-Marathon.
Our most sincere and biggest thanks goes out to both Steven and Nigel, without whom, the marathons we've enjoyed since New Moon wouldn't have gone ahead... I really hope we get to work with them again soon :)

As for this blog... Our Facebook page reached a landmark 1000 'likes' this November, and our Twitter reached 9000 followers... which makes me ridiculously happy!!
Who knew, looking back on our very first post, that this small blog would get so big :)
However, it has lost most of it's bloggers this year - due to ill health or hectic lives - but I do hope that we've been doing a good job for you and bringing you as much Twi-News as possible! :)

As this was originally a Twilight fan site, it is going to continue to slow down in 2013, but don't worry, we're not leaving completely just yet :)

Who knows what the new year will bring... the first time in FOUR years where we'll get no more new Twilight set-pictures, trailers or stills to squeal/speculate over....
But although the last film has now been and gone, there are still a lot of awards ceremonies, other film-releases (Like Stephenie Meyer's 'The Host'), and DVD release parties to look forward to :)

So, here's to a great 2013! *Raises glass*

Let's start it off in our favourite way - with a bit of sparkle ;)

Sláinte agus beannacht leat! (Health and blessings!)

With Love

 Jess xo

PS: Feel free to share YOUR Twilight memories from 2012 in the comments section below!
We'd LOVE to hear them :) xo
