Breaking Dawn Part 1 DVD Sales in UK Make It To Number 1

Last week, it was announced that Breaking Dawn was the UK's fastest selling DVD of the Year, but this week, it has made it to the number 1 position in the charts! Read about it below:
While flowers are undoubtedly still the Number 1 gift for Mother’s Day, a surprising close second seems to be the latest installment of The Twilight Saga, as Breaking Dawn Part 1 rockets to the top of the Official Video Chart.

It seems as though there are a lot of British mums who are as equally obsessed with Robert Pattinson (who plays Edward Cullen in the hit films) as their teenage daughters as the fourth part of incredibly popular franchise debuts at Number 1 this Mothering Sunday.

With over 919,000 sales, Breaking Dawn Part 1 has outsold this week’s Number 2 DVD and Blu-ray release – The Help – by a staggering 854,000 copies making it the fastest selling video release of 2012. This amazing first week sales figure also means that Breaking Dawn Part 1 has become the second fastest selling home release of the Twilight Saga. It is just behind 2010’s New Moon, which sold over a million copies in the UK week one.

Stephenie Meyer's "The Host" trailer to be released this Thursday!

Stephenie Meyer has today issued an update on her blog, announcing that the first trailer for the Andrew Niccol's adaptation of her novel The Host will be unveiled this Thursday, March 22nd, on Access Hollywood and Yahoo! Movies.

The film will hit cinemas in a little over a year (March 29th, 2013), but the film has been in production since February 13th 2012, with locations in Louisiana and New Mexico.

She also praised the casting choices for The Host as well as writer/director Andrew Niccol.
It's somewhat of a dream to have the creator and director of my favorite sci-fi film (Gattaca) helming this movie. I love the script he's written, I love his beautiful vision, and I love working with him.

I also can't say strongly enough how thrilled I am with our cast. The talent involved is unbelievable. We've been so blessed/lucky/kissed-by-fate all throughout the casting process. Wanda/Melanie is a very complicated role, and for a long time one of our biggest worries in the producer camp was finding an actress who could bring those two distinct personalities to life. And then Saoirse came along and we all quit worrying. If you've never had the pleasure of watching her act, I highly recommend her recent release, Hanna.
Actually, watch her in anything she's done and you'll see what I mean. After Saoirse joined us, amazing actor after amazing actor signed on until none of us could believe our good fortune. Just the other day I got to meet William Hurt (!!) in full Jeb beard and hair, and it kind of choked me up. He looks amazing—they all look amazing!—and I can't wait to see them in action next week.
Meyer also invited fans to participate in discussion on The Host's Facebook page and said "personally I'd love to hear what kinds of things you would most like to have a peek at as we continue with the filming. Please chime in!"
