Summit Ent. 'moving full steam ahead' with Breaking Dawn Part 2 Promo!

Have you been wondering if KStew's recent actions will effect the promo for Breaking Dawn Part 2?

Summit Entertainment has obviously been keeping an eye on the fandom during this difficult time, and has released a message for the fans regarding The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.

Speaking exclusively to EW, Summit's Nancy Kirkpatrick said;
"While it is studio policy not to comment on the personal lives of actors, Summit is moving full steam ahead and looking forward to this November’s opening of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. We are confident that the film delivers amazing entertainment for our passionate fans and general audience alike.”
Do you think the studio's statement was necessary?
Has it ca;med you down, or do you think her actions have tarnished the Saga a little bit?

Summit Executives, Melissa Rosenberg, and Chris Weitz Give Credit To Harry Potter Films

Erik Feig (a Summit Executive), Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight Saga screenwriter) and Chris Weitz (the director of The Golden Compass, New Moon and A Better Life) have cited the Harry Potter films as industry inspirations and changers. In the above photo, taken at the A Better Life premiere, Erik Feig is standing to Chris Weitz’s immediate left:
Erik Feig:
‘”There was a sea change with Harry Potter,” says Erik Feig, president of worldwide production at Summit Entertainment, which has made the Twilight movies. “The story has a younger protagonist, but the book series and the movies are greatly enjoyed by older people, too. I devoured the first book and gave it to every grown-up I knew. We saw the same thing with Twilight. We did not ghetto-ize it as a young-adult movie. Nor did they with Harry Potter. They drew all audiences. It was an inspiration to us.”
Chris Weitz:
“The impact of the Potter series has been tremendous in that it has essentially become the idea of a modern franchise,” says director Chris Weitz (Twilight: New Moon; The Golden Compass). “They latched onto something that has its own sequels built in. Now everyone is looking for a literary property that extends enough for them to keep on building.
“It’s led to this speculative bubble in mystical young-adult fiction. Twilight found its own way to hit upon the hunger for the supernatural and a particular time of life. But if you look at the bookshelves now, half of what is coming out in (young-adult) fiction is about a werewolf or a vampire or angels or demons. The other half is about magic and wizardry.”
Melissa Rosenberg:
“The Harry Potter filmmakers and screenwriter Steve Kloves really respected the fans,” says Melissa Rosenberg, who has written the screenplay for each Twilightmovie. “When you’re adapting a book series and you have that kind of fan base, you really have to deliver. You can’t just use the books as a jumping-off basis for another story. When I see a Harry Potter movie, I forget what is missing. Because Kloves is taking me and those kids on the same emotional journey as the book does.”

Summit Expecting $1.2B profit from Breaking Dawn films.

Summit’s two coming blockbusters, “Breaking Dawn 1 and 2” will cost $263 million — not the $200 million previously reported — and are projected to bring in a staggering $1.2 billion for the studio, according to confidential documents obtained by TheWrap.

Taken from thehdroom:
"Summit Entertainment knows they have struck gold with the Twilight franchise and are pulling out all the stops to bring the hugely successful film series to a close.

The Wrap is reporting that Summit and its investors are spending $263 million to bring The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn to the big screen in a two-part finale, according to internal documents they've gained access to.
This tops previous estimates that placed the budget for each of the Breaking Dawn films around $100 million or $200 million combined.

While $263 million may sound like a big investment on stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and a film geared toward an - abeit big - niche audience, the potential profits are huge. The same documents place the prospective earnings on Breaking Dawn at around $1.2 million. You, I, or anyone else would gladly plunk down our cash for an investment that could reap a 5 times return in just a few years.

Summit's exposure with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 is actually far lower than the $263 million budget. Part 1 is budgeted at $127.5 million while Summit's portion is only $38.4. Part 2 will cost $136.2 million and Summit will pay $51.2 million of that. Investors including Peak Capital Investment, who has a 48% stake, are paying for the rest.

The Wrap has posted the Breaking Dawn financial documents which you can download here.
The bottom line is Summit has gone from a struggling upstart studio in the red that took a gamble on Twilight with $37 million to turning annual profits in the $100+ million territory. By continuing to acquire films for distribution rather than produce them in-house, they continue to limit their risk and ride the Twilight dollars. At least until November 2013 when The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 brings the ride to a close."

FAMOUS Mag (AU): The Twilight Cast Walkout

Some old rumours are revisted, but this article centers on the pay dispuite that is (and here is that word again) 'allegedly' going on between Ashley Greene (Alice) and Kellan Lutz (Emmett) with Summit. It says that the Twilight cast might do a 'Friends' and walkout until this is resolved. Is it true? who knows! I just love when FAMOUS says 'a well placed Twilight source' *chuckles* Oozing credibility here lol

You can also have a laugh over their typo! Nikki (Rosalie) & Jackson (Jasper) apparently settled for $7500000 *LMAO* For that much money, I would too!! (I think it was meant to be $750,000).

Oh, and the thought of Lindsay Lohan getting anywhere near Rob makes me wanna hurl! (He better of had his Rabies shot)

Robert Pattinson New Moon "A Favourite of Irish Movie Goers" - Scan

Rob is mentioned in an article in the Irish News of The World.

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon took in more than €1.2 million at the box office, which was the highest opening weekend this year."

Now hear that SUMMIT - THIS is the reason we should have "Eclipse" open in Ireland on June 30th and not July 09th as scheduled. Sort it out!!

FAMOUS Mag (AU): The Dark Side of Twilight (drugs, grudges etc)

Summary:

Quite a disturbing article about how ‘controlling’ Summit are allegedly being over their ‘cash cow’ stars.

They have apparently:
  • Stopped Robsten from neither confirming or denying their ‘relationship’
  • In damage control over those KStew pot smoking/supporting pics resurfacing again. They’re hell bent in keeping her image squeaky clean, a good role model to the mass of young teens/fans
The article also goes on to report a real life rift between RPattz & Taylor. It claims that’s the reason why KStew is in the middle of photo’s all the time (psst… FAMOUS… if you read the books, you’d find out there is a love triangle so it’s fitting to have her there). I personally think that it’s all nonsense.

Ashley feeling the pressure to slim down?? I’m not buying it.
