Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis Wins MTV's 'Movie Brawl'

As many of you are aware from our overly-obsessive Facebook-ing and Tweeting,
(er, sorry about that ~ Jess)
Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis was involved in an 'MTV Movie Brawl' with "The Hunger Games" to figure out the film you're most excited to see in 2012.
Well..... here are the results:

Therefore I am proud to say that....
COSMOPOLIS HAS WON!!!

Josh Horowitz from MTV was the one who broke the news to Paul Giamatti.
(Benno Levin in Cosmopolis)
Check out his reaction below!

Cosmopolis was actually an MTV wild card entry in the beginning - meaning it wasn't even on the initial list MTV had - and was nominated into the competition.
It soon beat Rob's other film, Bel Ami (by only 3 votes, might I add!) before taking out Breaking Dawn Part 2 and The Dark Night Rises in order to get into the final - where it met it's rival - The Hunger Games.
Voting between the two movies was tight - with the leaders changing from hour to hour and only managing to get a lead of 0.1 or 0.2% before dropping again!

But Rob's fans prevailed!
Are you proud??
thanks again, Robsessed. I love this gif :)

Now if only we could get a trailer...lol

Here's how MTV announced the win;
The final buzzer has sounded, the brawl for it all is over, and Robert Pattinson is the last man standing: "Cosmopolis" has won MTV Movie Brawl 2012. His indie drama made for one hell of a Cinderella story in the vote-driven tournament to pick the must-see movie of the year. Entering the bracket as a #4 seed (following an impressive showing in the play-in round), "Cosmopolis" appeared to be facing an unavoidable Elite Eight ouster. What were the chances Pattinson's cerebral film about a young finance wiz taking a day-long limo ride though New York City would beat "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2"?

Apparently pretty good. Fans banded together, choosing to support RPattz's post-vampire career rather than the franchise that made him a star. "Breaking Dawn" was sent packing. And so, after easily fighting off "The Dark Knight Rises," "Cosmopolis" came to face "The Hunger Games," a brand-new franchise that had waltzed through the tournament and seemed to be the odds-on favorite to win the whole tourney. But it was not to be. After more than 3 million votes and a slew of lead changes, Pattinson's film beat back Jennifer Lawrence's series to become the undisputed champion of the Movie Brawl.

Hours before voting closed Monday afternoon (January 23), with "Cosmopolis" staking out an insurmountable lead and the MTV Movies team at the Sundance Film Festival, we broke the news to Pattinson's co-star, Paul Giamatti, that their film had won the tournament. "Holy cow, that's astounding!" he said. "The fact of that is amazing. ... That's a really cool thing that it brings that visibility to that movie." It's been a whirlwind few weeks in the tournament, so we'd like to thank all the fans who voted. The Brawl broke bigger than we could have ever hoped. Well over 5 million votes were cast. The competition spread wildly over Twitter and Facebook. Our comments sections caught fire as fans debated, argued and rallied. In the end, though, only one film could stand as the undisputed champion of the MTV Movie Brawl.

Pattinson, Giamatti, director David Cronenberg and everyone connected to "Cosmopolis" — we salute you!
All that's left for me to say now is... WELL DONE!
You have made Robert Pattinson proud and proved our fandom is still going strong! :)

Thanks to Robsessed for the screencap and link to the video ;)

Taylor Lautner To Debut 'Abduction' Trailer During 'MTV First' Interview

Josh Horowitz has finally put us out of our misery and tweeted... Taylor fans, are you ready?

"Following the success of "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" last month, another "Twilight" heartthrob will be taking over the channel.

"MTV First: Taylor Lautner" is set to premiere on air and online Wednesday, April 13, at 7:56 p.m. ET, when the 19-year-old star will exclusively debut the first trailer from his upcoming action/thriller "Abduction."

'Twilight' heartthrob will also answer fans' questions during half-hour MTV.com live stream on April 13.

Following the trailer premiere, Lautner will continue the conversation on MTV.com during a 30-minute chat with MTV News' Josh Horowitz. But we won't be the only one asking questions — fans will also have a chance to toss in their own queries. So if there's something you've been dying to know about Lautner, now's your chance. Just submit your questions on MTV.com or via Twitter (using @MTVNews and the hashtag #AskTaylor).

With a week to go before this exclusive event, we'll be diving into our extensive Taylor Lautner archive — stretching back to our first "Twilight" set visit in 2008 — and counting down our favorite MTV moments with the young star. Be sure to check back every day for the latest clip.

It's all leading up to Wednesday's "Abduction" debut. Lautner stars as a teen who stumbles upon his baby picture on a missing-persons website. As he reaches out to his birth parents, Lautner finds himself caught up in a world of underground spies and death-defying stunts. Joining him in the flick are Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs and Maria Bello.

"I love action, but most important is the story, and the story behind this action/thriller is amazing," Lautner told us last summer. "We got [director] John Singleton behind us. ... I'm so thankful we're getting a cast like that."

Woohoo! Another live Q&A!
Again, this means there will be a live stream at roughly 1AM UK/Ireland time.
Taylor fans, are you excited enough to stay up and watch it?

Keep an eye on this blog, our facebook, and our twitter for further updates!

Robert Pattinson Marvels At 'Twilight' Merchandise In His #2 MTV Moment

What else can we say about Robert Pattinson's #2 MTV moment other than "glitter lube"?

All week, we've been ticking off our favorite RPattz moments as we count down the hours until "MTV First: Robert Pattinson," a 30-minute conversation in which the 24-year-old actor will be answering your Twitter questions, goes live Friday at 8:56 p.m. ET. We've touched on our initial visit to talk to him on set in 2008 and his first trip to the Oscars the next year. Momentous occasions, all. And now, here we are: glitter lube.

Allow us to explain: As "Twilight" shape-shifted from a wildly popular book series into a global box-office juggernaut, the franchise has branched out into all sorts of ancillary gear: clothing and jewelry lines, board games, bed sets, Halloween costumes, makeup, posters, dolls, lunch boxes and, well, the list goes on. And on. As in: Pillows? Really?!

So when we caught up with Pattinson in the spring of 2010, while he was promoting "Eclipse," we wanted to know if there was a piece of merchandise that truly perplexed and entertained him.

"I like the glitter lube stuff. I thought that was really funny," he said, laughing. "I was just like, 'I did not sign that! Where is the paper?' I think, yeah, I'm pretty sure it's glitter — I think it's lube."

Ever the goofball, Rob didn't leave it there. "I've got a dispenser," he joked. "I just have it on my hands. 'Yeah, it's nice to meet you!' and it's like, 'Wow! It works!' "

Don't miss "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" this Friday at 8:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. Tune in to see RPattz introduce a new "Water for Elephants" clip, followed by a live 30-minute interview on MTV.com. Tweet questions using the hashtag #askrob to get in the conversation!

Robert Pattinson Wonders Why He's At The Oscars In His #3 MTV Moment

"If you ask us, Robert Pattinson officially arrived in Hollywood when "Twilight" won five Golden Popcorn statues at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards — including RPattz's nods for Best Kiss, Best Fight and Breakthrough Male Performance. But others might argue his Tinseltown coming-out party occurred a few months earlier.

In late February '09, after a weeklong series of rumors had whipped the Twi-nation into a frenzy, Pattinson walked onto an Academy Awards red carpet for the first time. He was not there because he was nominated, but simply because the Academy could not ignore the vampire phenomenon that had ignited the box office — and too many tween hearts to count — the previous fall. It was the biggest night in Hollywood, after all, and its biggest new star just had to be there. Not that he could quite wrap his head around the idea.

"It's insane," Pattinson exclaimed when we caught up with him on the carpet. "When they first told me about this, I was like, 'No, no, no, no, no, you're joking' — or 'I'm going to have to do something really stupid like get gunged!' "

Assuming he'd need to get doused with slime to justify an Oscars appearance, for that reason alone, this awards-season moment deserves to make our countdown of favorite Pattinson moments before the debut of "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" at 8:56 p.m. ET on Friday. But RPattz's self-deprecating humor aside, it was at the Oscars that his status as the rising young actor in town was solidified.

During the ceremony, he took the stage alongside Amanda Seyfried to present a montage of the year's romantic films, everything from "Mamma Mia!" to "Revolutionary Road" to, yes, "Twilight." Yet even though footage from the film that made him a star played at the Oscars, he couldn't quite believe the situation.

"I'm so surprised that it worked out the way it did," he told us of becoming a crush-worthy Hollywood presence. "I was thinking the whole time, 'I don't really have the personality to fit into that.' I'm not really afraid of it. I don't even know how to play up that. I don't know if I could ever be cast in a heartthrob role, apart from 'Twilight,' which I didn't know was a heartthrob role.""

MTV First: Robert Pattinson talks kissing Kristen Stewart in his #5 Moment!

Last week, we shared the good news that Robert Pattinson will be screening a new clip from his upcoming film "Water for Elephants", aswell as doing a live 30-minute interview on "MTV First" this coming Friday.

To countdown to this event, MTV News have decided to post their top 5 favourite Robert Pattinson MTV moments. Here's number five:

It was early April 2008, and "Twilight" hadn't yet become a global box-office phenomenon and set off an epidemic of pop-culture copycats seeking to suck up some of the franchise's supernatural lifeblood. Back then, when Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were just two up-and-coming actors making a movie for an independent studio, MTV News traveled to the film's Portland, Oregon, set to find out just what was happening with this gothic-tinged love story everyone seemed to be buzzing about.

The duo were alternately shy and unguarded, jokey and awkward, and generally far different than they are these days, with the press invading every aspect of their personal and professional lives. That's why, even years later, our first-ever "Twilight" interview remains one of our favorite RPattz moments. And as we count down the days until "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" airs next Friday at 8:56 p.m. ET, we hauled the footage from our vaults.

"Kristen's the best actress of her generation, and that's why I wanted to do this movie. I don't know why she is, but she's better than everyone else," Pattinson told us, breaking out into laughter as he kept the attention on his co-star and away from himself.

"You don't want me to talk about you?" Stewart asked, before doing just that. "I think he's really handsome."

Throughout the interview, they exchanged knowing glances, laughed at themselves and each other, and paused for long periods as they searched for the right word or anecdote. This was the "Twilight" stars, pre-media training, and it's utterly endearing. Can you imagine them now so openly discussing what it's like to smooch on camera?

"His teeth are pretty sharp," Stewart laughed. "It's great. I like it."

"Every time, I just try to kill her," Pattinson added.

"And [Bella] likes it," Stewart said. "She's a total sadomasochist, if you think about it."

Robert Pattinson To Talk 'Water For Elephants' On 'MTV First' Live Stream!

Remember when Josh Horowitz tweeted to say that he'd have a Twilight related surprise in store for us?

He's enjoyed teasing us on twitter ever since, saying that something was on the way, but never giving any hints.
Well, today he finally spilled the beans.

Will it make up for the "Oscars Surprise" letdown?

Taken from MTV.com:

"RPattz will debut an exclusive movie clip and answer fan questions during Q&A streaming live on March 18 at 8:56 p.m. ET on MTV.com"

"Calling all Robert Pattinson fans! MTV News has a very special treat for all of you next Friday, March 18, when we'll present an exclusive sit-down interview with Robert Pattinson and premiere a previously-unseen clip from his new movie, "Water for Elephants."
Hosted by MTV News' Josh Horowitz, "MTV First: Robert Pattinson" airs next Friday at 8:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. Fans can tune in to see RPattz introduce the new clip, followed immediately by a live 30-minute interview with Josh on MTV.com, during which the "Twilight" heartthrob will answer a few questions from fans.
Fans can begin submitting their pressing queries on Friday (March 11) on MTV.com or via Twitter (using @MTVNews/ hashtag #AskRob).
In order to properly prepare for this exclusive, must-see event, MTV News will also be pulling from its extensive Robert Pattinson library — dating back to the first "Twilight" flick — during a five-day countdown of our favorite MTV moments with the star. Fans should check in every day to see and comment on the latest clips!
Pattinson's eagerly anticipated "Water for Elephants" is based on the acclaimed best-seller by Sara Gruen. The story revolves around a veterinary school student Jacob (Pattinson), who meets and falls in love with Marlena (Reese Witherspoon), a star performer in a circus around the time of the Great Depression. They discover beauty amidst the world of the Big Top and connect over their compassion for a special elephant. Against all odds — including the wrath of Marlena's charismatic but dangerous husband, August (Christoph Waltz) — Jacob and Marlena pursue lasting love."

AAH! A live Q&A with Rob! *jumps for joy*
This means there will be a live stream at roughly 1AM UK/Ireland time.
