Stephenie Meyer's 'The Host' gets new director

 

Susannah White has been announced as the new director for the book-to-film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's "The Host"

Taken from variety.com; 
"Nick Wechsler will produce the indie through his eponymous banner, along with Chockstone Pictures' Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz." 

Andrew Niccol (The Truman Show, Gattaca), who has written the adapted screenplay for the film, was long presumed to be the shoe-in for director of The Host. However, he's got a couple of other new projects in the works now that may have changed these plans (namely, Dali & I: The Surreal Story and The City That Sailed).

Susannah White has experience directing both television and films, with such work under her belt as Nanny McPhee Returns, Generation Kill (in which Kellan Lutz starred in), The Diary Of A Nobody, and Jane Eyre.

The Host's IMDb page shows the following tagline for the picture: 
"One soul, the Wanderer, is fused with a dying human named Melanie Stryder, in an attempt to locate the last pocket of surviving humans on Earth."

Castmembers for the film have yet to be announced.

Back in September, 2009, when the news of The Host's movie future came around, Stephenie Meyer stated that the "ideal" direction for The Host would be a "character driven science fiction."

It certainly seems to be shaping up that way!

A Summer Wedding for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart? Gossip Cop Dismisses Rumors.

Once again wild rumors have been circulating regarding the supposed 'relationship' between Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. According to Star Magazine Rob and Kristen are due to get hitched in the Summer. This is off the back of alleged reports by Life & Style that their 'relationship' is on the rocks and is heading for a break down.

Thankfully, Gossip Cop has cleared up all the rumors, and has succinctly dismissed the marriage and break up rumors. Thank you Gossip Cop.
