Ashley Greene Joins Lorne Michaels-Produced ‘Staten Island Summer’

Deadline reports:
Ashley Greene has joined the cast of the Lorne Michaels- and John Goldwyn- produced comedy Staten Island Summer. Helmed by longtime Saturday Night Live
director-producer Rhys Thomas and written by the late-night show’s head scribe Colin Jost, the pic follows the summer after high school graduation that friends Danny and Frank spend as poolside lifeguards. With the former off to Harvard and the latter unsure of what he wants to do next, the movie lays out the different directions the pals’ lives are about to take.
Greene’s character in the Paramount movie is member of the pool club and the daughter of an overly protected mobster. It is also fair to say the actress plays the object of at least one of the boys’ desires.
Set to start production later this month in New York, Staten Island Summer makes four the number of films Greene now has coming out. She stars in CBGB, about the famed NYC punk rock club, The Weinstein Company’s Random and Zach Braff’s Kickstarter funded film Wish I Was Here. Greene is repped by CAA and McKeon Myones Management.

Robert Pattinson's New Film Role Announced!
"Mission: Black List #1"

SQUEE!!!! We have some really exciting news!
Robert Pattinson's next film role has been announced!! :D

                                                                From Deadline:
LOS ANGELES, CA – May 2, 2012 – Robert Pattinson has come on board to star in the upcoming film “Mission: Blacklist” with Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire committed to direct.

The screenplay was adapted by “Band of Brothers” writer and producer Erik Jendresen from the Harper Collins novel Mission: Black List #1 written by military interrogator Eric Maddox with Davin Seay. Ross M. Dinerstein, Managing Partner of Preferred Content, is producing alongside Jendresen and Kevin Waller.

Embankment Films, the international sales and distribution company recently launched by international sales veterans Tim Haslam and Hugo Grumbar will begin selling the film at the upcoming Cannes Film Market.

“Mission: Blacklist” is a psychological thriller that details the true, inside story of the search for Saddam Hussein and the interrogator, Eric Maddox, who spearheaded his capture.

“This movie is a gripping, edge of your seat thriller,” says Dinerstein. “I have been inspired by Robert and Jean-Stéphane’s dedication to tell this story in the most authentic way possible, and I’m thrilled to add Hugo and Tim to our team.”

Pattinson can next be seen in David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis,” which is premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Sauvaire’s last film, “Johnny Mad Dog,” premiered at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Prize of Hope.

WME represents Pattinson, Jendresen, and Sauvaire. Pattinson is managed by 3 Arts Entertainment and represented by the Curtis Brown Group in the UK. Sauvaire is managed by Anonymous Content.
The deal was brokered by WME Global’s Graham Taylor and Deborah McIntosh and PreferredContent’s Kevin Iwashina and Christine D’Souza. WME Global and Preferred Content will be corepresenting the North American rights.

So... do you think that this why Rob shaved off the hair? (Maybe for the audition?)
Many had speculated that it was for a new film role, but most people decided that it was just because of the bad haircut he was left with after shooting Cosmopolis.

Kristen Stewart to Star in and Produce 'Cali'

Thanks to Gossip Cop for the info!
Kristen Stewart has a new film project in the works!

The actress has scored the lead in Cali, an upcoming indie movie from Voltage Productions and New School Media, producers announced on Friday.

Stewart will play Mya, who is forced to return home to help “save” her younger sister, years after the trouble-causing Mya and her boyfriend left town.

The Twilight Saga star is also expected to produce the flick, which is slated to begin filming in late summer.

“Kristen is a talented and dynamic actor, with a proven box office draw,” Voltage’s Craig J. Flores tells Variety.

He continues, “Her role in Cali will be edgy and sexy. It will no doubt push the envelope on the public’s view of Kristen’s wide-ranging abilities. Voltage is thrilled to have her as a partner on this fantastic film.”

Stewart will next be seen, of course, in Snow White and the Huntsman, which opens June 1.
