Robert Pattinson Talks ‘Mission: Blacklist’ with Publinews (Guatemala)
– Scans and Translation

Translation (via @Gabyuza)
Edward Cullen, the enigmatic and central figure of The Twilight Saga, was the role that launched Robert Pattinson to success. Something that according to him, doesn’t quite fits into his personality.

Publinews talked to him about critics and future projects.

“I have a weird mental disorder: I only listen the negative part. It doesn’t matter if a lot of people say really good things, I always see it negative.”

Maybe I feel I don’t deserve it yet, that’s why I really want to feel in my head that I do something worthwhile, and fight for a long period of time.

In any case, Pattinson feels uncomfortable with The Twilight Saga’s fame, although it’s a motivation for his career. “This year I’ve sign to a lot of things. I was obsessed in working with people that are qualified as dangerous; I thought it would be thrilling.”

“I think that anyone who has some vision, could try to make really subversive things. I think it will be really interesting to develop these kind of projects within the mainstream, movies that convert the audience in participants and not just consumers.”

This sensitivity is what made him sign into “Mission: Blacklist”, movie that will be shot in Irak next year. “Probably this film will be out of anyone’s comfort zone”

“It’s about a character named “Eric Maddox” who was an army interrogator and almost caught Saddam Hussein all by himself”. “Nobody knows the truth story, which is absolutely incredible, bizzare and hilarante in some aspects.”

Joining to this project, the French visionary director, Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire, who utilized true Liberian soldiers kids in his previous film.

We present some details about Robert Pattinson

•Besides of being an actor, the young English man is also a musician, producer and model.

•In his childhood and adolescence he participated in communitarians plays “Guys and Dolls”, “Thornton Wilders Our Town”, “Anything Goes”, “Macbeth” and “Tess of the d’Urbervilles”.

•At 12, he started modeling, but four years later he got few contracts because media wanted androgynous images.

•“The Times” named him, in 2005, “British Star of Tomorrow”” after playing Cedric Diggory on “Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire”

•When he auditioned for his role as Edward Cullen, in the Twilight Saga, he thought he wouldn’t get the part, because he felt he didn’t have the physicality of the character.

Audio: Eric Maddox talks about Robert Pattinson & Mission Blacklist

Below is an interview that the real Eric Maddox did with Pundit Review Radio, where he talks about the movie and about Robert Pattinson.
You can get the full audio by clicking here, although there are no more Rob mentions then below!

Transcript of the Audio (with thanks to Robstenation)
Eric Maddox: Well, a team a couple of years ago purchased the rights of my book to turn it into a movie and they took it from there, they got a screenplay, writer Erik Jendresen, the gentleman who wrote Band of Brothers, and got a director and producers and then they just made their decision in May to have Robert Pattinson play the lead part in the movie and …
Host: He’s the heartthrob guy from Twilight.
EM: Correct.
Host: That is pretty awesome. I mean, did you have any say in which Hollywood stag is to play Eric Maddox?
EM: Well, they gave me the final decision. I let them do all the work…like I said, I mean… Afghanistan obviously I was very busy so I let them do what they think is best and I get the final decision and for me it was a no-brainer. I said absolutely! Whatever you did to get that guy to be a part of this movie, I think is wonderful and I fully support it.
Host: Did they have any schedule for filming, any idea when it will hit theaters?
EM: I have no idea when its gonna hit the theaters. They plan on starting the filming at the end of this year. They are currently at the Cannes Film Festival in France selling and I think its all going well. Like I said, I don’t have that close hold on all the activities but I believe that is the schedule.
(…)
On meeting Rob and scouting location in Iraq
EM: They’re going to be scouting locations in Iraq if they make that decision then so be it. The one major request I had is that they keep the story as authentic as possible. The director for the film is Jean-Stephane Sauvaire and he insist on it being authentic and he refuses to put any part of it that is not real and raw and true so that is one thing that they’re very encouraged about and I met with Robert Pattinson for 14 hours earlier this month, right when I came back from Afghanistan and that level of commitment. I mean we’re talking about a guy who is super famous and really popular and we met for 14 hours and he focused exclusively on the project and want to get down to the nitty gritty of the project and his entire focus was on the project. It wasn’t about him or his needs and from that I realized that this is the guy who is dedicated to his work and wanted to put in the hours …so that’s what made me certain that they have built a right team for this.

Robert Pattinson's New Film Role Announced!
"Mission: Black List #1"

SQUEE!!!! We have some really exciting news!
Robert Pattinson's next film role has been announced!! :D

                                                                From Deadline:
LOS ANGELES, CA – May 2, 2012 – Robert Pattinson has come on board to star in the upcoming film “Mission: Blacklist” with Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire committed to direct.

The screenplay was adapted by “Band of Brothers” writer and producer Erik Jendresen from the Harper Collins novel Mission: Black List #1 written by military interrogator Eric Maddox with Davin Seay. Ross M. Dinerstein, Managing Partner of Preferred Content, is producing alongside Jendresen and Kevin Waller.

Embankment Films, the international sales and distribution company recently launched by international sales veterans Tim Haslam and Hugo Grumbar will begin selling the film at the upcoming Cannes Film Market.

“Mission: Blacklist” is a psychological thriller that details the true, inside story of the search for Saddam Hussein and the interrogator, Eric Maddox, who spearheaded his capture.

“This movie is a gripping, edge of your seat thriller,” says Dinerstein. “I have been inspired by Robert and Jean-Stéphane’s dedication to tell this story in the most authentic way possible, and I’m thrilled to add Hugo and Tim to our team.”

Pattinson can next be seen in David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis,” which is premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Sauvaire’s last film, “Johnny Mad Dog,” premiered at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Prize of Hope.

WME represents Pattinson, Jendresen, and Sauvaire. Pattinson is managed by 3 Arts Entertainment and represented by the Curtis Brown Group in the UK. Sauvaire is managed by Anonymous Content.
The deal was brokered by WME Global’s Graham Taylor and Deborah McIntosh and PreferredContent’s Kevin Iwashina and Christine D’Souza. WME Global and Preferred Content will be corepresenting the North American rights.

So... do you think that this why Rob shaved off the hair? (Maybe for the audition?)
Many had speculated that it was for a new film role, but most people decided that it was just because of the bad haircut he was left with after shooting Cosmopolis.
