MTV’s Harry Potter World Cup has 64 of the best “Harry Potter” characters and matched them up in a series of duels for a chance at magical glory, but it’s up to YOU to decide who the greatest “Potter” character of all time is in this pool of wizards and witches.
Cedric Diggory, the late Hogwarts student who competed nobly and died tragically during the Triwizard Tournament, has entered the Harry Potter World Cup. Perhaps more importantly, however, is the fact that Robert Pattinson has stepped into the arena. Next to him, fan-favorite witch Luna Lovegood has also kicked off her first round match-up in the Hogsmeade division, which wraps up on Sunday (June 27) at midnight.
(3) Cedric Diggory vs. (14) Olympe Maxime
Let’s not beat around the bush: if Cedric Diggory advances deep into the Hogsmeade division, is it because of his merits as a character or his alter-ego’s superstar status? No doubt that his death in “Goblet of Fire” was a profoundly powerful moment that irreversibly changed the course of the “Potter” story, but is that where he’ll get his support, or will voters sink their teeth into Cedric for “other reasons”?
And as far as Madame Maxime is concerned, is the Beauxbatons giant tall enough to stand up against the height of the “Twilight” crowd? The outcome of this match-up could be very telling for the rest of the World Cup — with enough momentum on his side, Cedric could become the most unstoppable force in the entire tournament.

If Jamie Campbell Bower was up for the Harry Potter World Cup, I'm sure that they would have posted about it. But he's not, and you should just get it into your thick skull that Rob is.

And some of us are trying to get some proof that you people are interfering in our competition. It's HARRY POTTER NOT TWILIGHT! ROBERT PATTISON IS NOT CEDRIC DIGGORY! It's alright if you like both fandoms and all, but still voting for a character in another fan-base just cuz their alter-ego plays a vampire in a totally different story is low. Vote for the character cuz you like the character not the freaking actor who plays him!
ReplyDeleteOk, im going to ask you guys nicely. Will you please stop interfering in our competition. It's supposed to be about Harry Potter NOT Twilight or Robert Pattison. Cuz let me tell you right now, ROBERT PATTISON IS NOT CEDRIC DIGGORY! He might have played him the movie, but for goodness sake the whole competition is about which HP CHARACTER is the best or your favorite or was the best written. Cedric plays such a small role in the entire series, his death, no offense, was definitely NOT the most devastating, and voting off a character like Luna was not acceptable. When you compare Cedric to someone like Snape or Neville or Harry or Hermione or Ginny or Ron or LUNA...do you guys honestly think he qualifies as the BEST character? No. He does not. You know why? Cause Snape was such a complex character who died for the greater good after being convicted being evil, died protecting the son of the girl he was always in love with and who married his worst enemy, Neville was such a wimp in the beginning of the series and grew into such a strong, brave and heart swelling character, Harry matured soooo much throughout the series and inspired us in ways you wouldn't ever imagine. Hermione taught us that it does not matter what others think of you, that you should always stick to what you believe in, stand up for it even if no one else will, she also taught us to be independent. Ron used to be pretty immature at the beginning of the series but grew into such a mature and sweet person and his loyalty never wavered. And as for Luna, she was always soooo free-spirited and quirky and weird but we love her for it! She also taught us to be true to yourself. As for Cedric, he played such a minor role, he was PoA the BOOK and had ONE LINE..."Good Luck, Harry!" and in GoF, yeah. He had a bigger role and tried being a bigger person to let Harry take the cup and after it was decided they would both take it, he died before he had a split second to think. Voldemort killed him cuz he was just there, it was an intro to the darkness of the series. Granted we don't know if he would've tried to protect Harry, he might've taken a run for it. But please do not insult our characters that we have grown to love over the course of 14 years by voting for an actor you have drooled over and stalked for a mere 3 years. Harry Potter for some of us has made us who we are, we do not mean to insult your favorite fandom, but to us Harry has been there every step of the way. Twilight didn't become well known until the movie came out in 2008. Yes some of us like Twilight too, it's not our particular favorite, but i've read the series and i thought it was pretty ok. I don't hate it. However you guys don't understand what Harry Potter is for us. It has inspired us to be bigger and stronger people, taught us that heroes are not born, they are made, friends and family and love come before money and power and yourself. That you will always have a choice no matter what and that even though we suffer sometimes, we have the choice to be happy and continue living your life to its fullest. So once again, if you like Cedric AS A CHARACTER and think he is the best character, go ahead and vote for him, but don't vote for him cuz of Robert Pattison.

We are not trying to interfere with your poll. This is a Twilight website and we are merely letting people know that one of the actors from the film is in it.
Whoever the readers choose to vote for is their business, as they can plainly see that they have a wide variety of characters to choose from.
If you truly believe Twilight-fans are interfering because of an actor rather then a character, then just be happy with the knowledge that when it's down to the last few, the 'true' Harry Potter-favourite will no doubt triumph. But please bear in mind that some people actually do like Cedric!
There really is no need for all this abuse, so I am asking every one to please stop acting so immature on our website as we will not approve any more comments such as the ones above.
