Eclipse's Score Composer, Howard Shore Scores “Maps To The Stars”!

Great news!

The new EOne at Cannes Brochure has revealed the fact that Maps To The Stars will be scored by Howard Shore!

Howard Shore has previously scored The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, as well as two other Cronenberg movies “Cosmopolis” & “A Dangerous Method”!
(Click here to listen to the Eclipse score, and here to listen to the Cosmopolis Score!)

The Weiss family is the archetypical Hollywood dynasty: father Sanford is an analyst and coach, who has made a fortune with his self-help manuals; mother Cristina mostly looks after the career of their son Benjie, 13, a child star.

One of Sanford’s clients, Havana, is an actress who dreams of shooting a remake of the movie that made her mother, Clarice, a star in the 60s. Clarice is dead now and visions of her come to haunt Havana at night…

Adding to the toxic mix, Benjie has just come off a rehab program he joined when he was 9 and his sister, Agatha, has recently been released from a sanatorium where she was treated for criminal pyromania.

Drama / Canada/France/Germany – Shooting starts July 2013

'Harry Potter' beats 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' midnight sales record

Via Twilight Examiner:

As expected, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 has taken The Twilight Saga: Eclipse‘s midnight sales record, by bringing in “a mind-boggling $43 million worth of tickets at 3,800 mostly sold-out midnight shows,” per the New York Post.
Eclipse set the record last year with $30 million, but earlier this week, advanced ticket sales figures alone indicated that midnight sales would surpass that number easily; and so it was.

Also of interest, Fandango is reporting that it “has sold more midnight and early morning show tickets for Part 2 than it has for the late night openings of any other movie,” including The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Harry Potter could also potentially snag the record for highest Opening Day Gross from New Moon (which brought in $72.7 million), as some sources predict today’s opening will yield up to $80 million. If that’s the case, HP8 would also overtake New Moon‘s Single Day Gross and Single Friday Gross records as well.

However! Eclipse still boasts the highest Single Wednesday Gross and highest number of opening theaters (4,416 to Harry Potter's 4,300).

We could have gotten the 'I Do's' in Eclipse!

MTV's 'Next Movie' blog, recently got a chance to chat with David Slade ahead of the DVD release of Eclipse this weekend. The full interview isn't up yet, but below is an extract from what is posted:

We discussed a lot of the things at the script-writing stage — at one point, we were even going to shoot the wedding at the end of ["Eclipse"] but we knew there was another film coming”

You can read the rest of the interview here.

Are you happy that we didn't get the wedding? Or do you think they made a huge mistake by not putting it in?

David Slade thanks fans

When you put your heart and soul into something as intense as the duration of a film production, you become completely lost in it. You focus on doing your very best to get it right each day and you work on this for so long that you assume an ownership of it.

When shooting The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, I always felt an awareness of how many people this film would reach and as a result, knew that this film did not just belong to myself, the producers and the studio, but more so, to all of you, the fans of The Twilight Saga.

At the end of the day, after all the hard work is done, all that's left is the film itself, and your overwhelmingly positive and supportive responses have made me feel like we must have done something right. As a filmmaker, this is a rare and strange feeling of connection with an audience of which I will never forget and I thank you all for it.
